Unfortunately, the best guns require real money to unlock - unless you like grinding a few hours at a time. You'll earn bonus currency in each mission, along with downloadable Daily Missions. Upgrades also return, allowing you to get stronger weapons to fend off the zombie horde. However, there's no opportunity to play with friends, though Triniti promises multiplayer modes are on the way. What's worse, the "save the civilian" missions are frustrating, because once you touch this person, he or she runs into danger.Ĭontent wise, Call of Mini: Zombies 2 offers decent upgrades and a number of missions to tackle - not bad for a game that currently sells for $0.99. These missions are fun, and the original game's control scheme returns, letting you aim and move around with ease using a twin-stick method or on-screen touch aiming.Įven though the game's zombie-killing action makes for a fun time, it quickly gets repetitive, even with the variety of mission types. There's always something to shoot, like spitting nurses and zombie clowns. You'll choose from a handful of characters and tackle missions, including all-out slaughter, massive boss battles (wait until you meet the Chef Zombie) and escorting unarmed civilians out of harm's way. Plus, there's still no sign of co-op or multiplayer. Fans of the original game will find plenty to like, but it doesn't expand upon the formula.
Now we have the sequel, Call of Mini: Zombies 2, and it's business as usual for Triniti Interactive. Despite its novel concept and fun gameplay, we couldn't overlook its repetitive nature, nor its genuine lack of co-op and multiplayer modes. When we reviewed the original Call of Mini: Zombies for iOS last year, we found it to be a fresh take on the zombie shooting genre, replacing realistic character models in favor of super-deformed, pint-sized runts.
